   One of South Korea’s largest and oldest child welfare organizations. Since opening in 1948, Green Umbrella has provided support to disabled children, single-parent families, and children in low-income households. 2. Heart-Heart Foundation

   Founded in 1988, this Seoul-based nonprofit supports vulnerable communities around the world. It’s famous for running Korea’s first orchestra made up of musicians with developmental disabilities, alongside programs in education, clean water access, and vision care.

3. Korea HelpAge (Korean Senior Citizens Welfare Association)

   Originally called the Korean sister organization of the international HelpAge network, this group supports low-income elderly people living alone across Korea. It also runs programs abroad supporting older adults in developing countries.

4. KUMFA (Korean Unwed Mothers’ Families Association)

   Founded in 2009 by unwed mothers, KUMFA advocates for the rights of unwed mothers and their children in Korea. They provide resources including counseling, emergency housing, parental education, and community support.

5. Asan Medical Center

   A world-renown nonprofit hospital in Seoul that offers financial assistance to patients who cannot afford treatment. Donations to its patient support funds go directly toward covering medical costs for people facing financial hardship.
